Freo Fundamentals Program

Freo Fundamentals Program 2016

This year our school has been invited to participate in the Freo Fundamentals program.

The Fremantle Dockers Football Club, in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame Australia, conducts Freo Fundamentals in selected lower primary schools throughout Perth. Freo Fundamentals is conducted over four sessions in term one for students in pre-primary and year one with a maximum of four classes from each participating school. Caitlyn Edwards. Freo Fundamentals Co-Ordinator, held the first of three school-based sessions last Tuesday. For the final session of the program, the students will attend an exclusive Fremantle Dockers’ Gala Day conducted at Fremantle Oval with Freo Dockers players.

On Wednesday 6th April 2016 our Pre-Primary and Year 1 students participated in a series of fun-filled activities jointly conducted by the Fremantle Dockers Players and Physical Education Students from the University of Notre Dame on Fremantle Oval.
The children were divided into three groups and students from Notre Dame as well as a number of Docker Players were allocated to each group to conduct a variety of Fundamental Movement Skills activities. At the conclusion of the clinic, the students were then led back to the marshalling area where a signing/autograph session was held with the players. The children had a wonderful time as this was a rare opportunity for the students to come face to face with some of their AFL heroes.
